I was wondering how long it takes to heal from benzo withdrawl. I am currently being tortured with withdrawl symptoms including (burning and tingling sensations in the arms/shoulders, depression, confusion, cognitive slowed/retardation?, racing heart, shaking) Has anyone gone through these symptoms and found an improvement over time? I have only been taking zolpidem and klonopin for a month and now slowly tapering and the symptoms are still present. :'( Every day Is a challenge cause i feel bed bound and so anxious/confused. Do people truly heal recover 100% over time? I would appreciate the support cause I am alone and only have my boston terrier during the day to help comfort me through this withdrawl.

People most definitely heal from the damage caused by benzos.  The healing time varies greatly, but you will heal, and be yourself again.

the best to you  :)

Hi Booboo9,

So sorry you are experiencing so many wd sxs.  Are you tapering both the K and the Z at the same time?

As far as how long benzo wd last, it is difficult to say because different BB have had different experiences.  Some feel better right away and some after a number of months and then there are some BB that don't feel better for a long while.  However, most BB experience both waves (wd sxs) and windows (where sxs. lessen or go away for a while) until they are finally healed.

Please hang in there and come to BB when you need encouragement and support.  We are here for you.

P.S.  We might not answer your posts right away because many of us may also be going through a difficult time...
