chills?

I'm coming off xanax and almost on valium and cutting down slowly. I've been getting the chills so often is this normal, has anyone else had this?

Yes. Definitely. It's one of my very, very first and worst symptoms when I've cut back. Sometimes it's just inside and sometimes I actually do tremble. Also, I get goosebumps ALL over my whole body. I can also go into a sweat. Occasionally, I've had fevers as well from it.

Thank you, I thought I was coming down with the flu. It just starting now, I'm almost down 5 mlgs of valium but doing it slowly. So it was gentle but now these chills and hot flashes. At least I know you had it too and I'm not loosing my mind. I'm taking .5 xanax and 5 mlgs of valium in the am and then 40 mlgs timed out during the day. Besideds benzo belly and nausea this is the only other symptom so far. Thanks for responding

Yes, I've had chills, shivers, hot sweats.

 

Mainly in my taper but sometimes now, fifteen months post taper.

 

It seems a common symptom.

I have chills and feel very hot at the same time - 18 months into w/d.  It's really the only bad symptom I have left.  Someone on here described the feeling as having mentholated skin.  Very good description, I think.
