Safe antibiotics for UTI

Hi guys.

 

I'm having a UTI. I'm trying to fight it off with OTC meds, cranberry juice and tons of water but I  think I may need and AB this time.

I took cipro before when I just started the taper. It worked well and fast but I can't even tell you how bad was for w/d.

 

I'm 4 days benzo free and I don't want to risk to take anything that will screw up the w/d.

 

Do you know what AB is safe to use during w/d? I'd appreciate any answer.

Fosfomycin seems about the best from what I can tell.  None of them look very attractive.

Hi Laura,

 

Ive just got over a water infection the doctor gave me a weeks supply of Trimeoprim and i had no problems with this.  This is the second dose ive had since i started tapering off my tablets.

Thank you guys. I'll wait until Monday to see if I need to see the doctor. I'm taking the OTC Cystex, is not bad but has aspirin on it I think and I don't do very well with aspirin or any other pain relief medication. I feel dizzier and "out of it"

Good to know Katie that you took those without problems.

 

If I go to see the doctor I know his first option will be cipro as I took it before. Then I'll have to explain why I can't take it and I can see his face giving me "the look" you know what I mean guys. 

 

I hope this resolves on its own. I don't want to go to see any doctor now  :'(
