Quitting zoloft ?

[me...]

Recommended Posts

Hi! The thought of having to withdrawal from another drug is making me ill. However, so is the thought of taking a pill these days. (approaching 4weeks from 4-6mg a day xanax) is it that bad stopping it? I'm at 50mg right now. I know it's recommended in my situation, but I want off. I've stopped them before but couldn't take the motion sickness and started again. Any shared experienced would be nice.  Thank you ~ :)

In my opinion, stopping Zoloft now while still in withdrawal from high doses of Xanax would be a very bad idea.  You can wait until you've recovered from the benzo  withdrawal and then taper the Zoloft.

meagain,

I so sympathize with you. Take a look at my tickers. As soon as I finished benzo tapering, I tried tapering Lexapro. And I failed so miserably. Benzo w/d heightens your system so much. Essentially I tried like 6 times over the months to taper the L. Eventually I turned a good corned in benzo w/d at month 10 or so. I got some titration supplies and started on the L. After 4 months I was drug-free but at a cost as I am not doing as well as I was before.

If it were me, I would wait until I feel somewhat better from the benzos. Then I'd attempt an extremely slow taper. You can even titrate an a/d, as I learned from Draftsman.
