[so...]
I'm a middle aged male with low testostetone and My doc has me taking weekly testostetone injections I've read a few posts indicating steroids may delay healing. Is this correct?

[fi...]
I took testosterone for about a year and it didn't delay my healing, but it sure kept me from sleeping. My doctor initially tested me wrongly for low testosterone (he drew blood from my arm), and I later found out that that is not the proper way to test for low testosterone. I later did a saliva test and my testosterone was 3 times that of a male my age! I then stopped the testosterone and have been sleeping better ever since. Also, usually they do a PSA test before putting a person on testosterone. From what I have learned, either a saliva test or a bloodspot test (taken from pricking one of your fingers) is the best way to test for low testosterone. So, in answer to your question, it didn't delay my healing, it just prevented sound sleep and I went into "roid rage" a few times (because I was wrongly prescribed way too much testosterone). Actually, I didn't need it anyway. You might want to get a second opinion before going on it. I don't plan on using it again. fg
