Breathing issues

Today was ruff. By 9 am i just couldnt get god breaths. took pill at 1020 and what do you know? I could breathe better after about 20 minuts Then at 1230 it started again. Its a horrible feeling Just wondr if anyone else has had this. Im in I/W I have digestive issues too and feel they are conected. Would like to hear from someone who has had this. And will this get better as i taper?

Yes, my hubby has had both, during last part of tapering both hit.  He just periodically has the breathing issue, but that is when the benzo belly gets bad - still lots of GI problems.  But, he is moving forward.  Best to you, Pattylu

the breathing issues have been one of worst symptoms, I have taken benzos for over 20 yrs and a number of years ago I actually went to a respirologist and was tested for asthma, he said I was borderline and gave me two different inhalors which really didnt help so I quit using them,  I now look back and believe it was caused by anxiety from tolerance withdrawal, it all went away for years and now I am tapering its come back, it is also tied in to a type of GERD with me too, I get feeling like I have to burp, then get this tightness feeling in my esophagus and the need to constantly sight or yawn to take a deep breath, man I hate it, I do know that I am getting enough breath, it just feels like you are not, eating somehow helps as it feels good to swallow, hence I am gaining weight, I have read of this type of difficulty in other places so we are certainly not alone Ladygrace

Thanks gor the replys, I just hate it i cant eat when this is happening. I hopethis will not be ongoing as i taper. What is benzo belly?
