3.5mgs for 10yrs

I was on about 2mg daily for about 5yrs followed by another 10yrs at 3.5mg (xanax). After hearing that many of my still present symptoms could be caused by the continued use of benzos and other issues, I decided to start down the road of dry tapper. It been over a year, I am down to .75mg daily (.250 3 times) its been VERY hard, all kinds of difficulties. I joined the forum so I could search the posts. I find them very informative and uplifting.

You've done so well at tapering down to .75, I know it must have been hard. I had a problem when I got down to .75 too. What does your taper schedule look like? You might want to start going slower or taking smaller doses and see if you feel better. Let us know if you have any questions, I'm glad you found us, welcome aboard.

Great job tapering down to your current dose of .75 of xanax.  Keep up the taper and you can look forward to when you become benzo free.  I am now 3 weeks from my last dose of xanax and the sun is beginning to shine again.  This is a great place to find all sorts of information and support as you continue your journey.  Hang on for the ride!

Xanax is a very difficult benzo to straight taper but some of us are doing it.  Please stop by and share your experience.  You will find a lot of support there.

Welcome Hardroad,

You've found the place for support and great info for your journey.  Think positively and just accept it's not going to be the easiest thing you've ever done...but lots of people here are in the same boat, many being successful.  There's a Xanax tapering thread you can read/join as well...
