Silly question

Hi purplepanda,

It's not a silly question :)  A window is when we are feeling pretty good, almost 'normal' again.  A wave is when a window closes, and we get many of the same old symptoms back again.

There is no set timeframe as to how long windows and waves can last.

the best to you

I have two types of waves, and I'm not sure if both are considered waves.

One is symptoms getting rev'd up when I do a given activity.  I don't necessarily think that that counts as a wave, so much as my body's response to certain activity or inputs given what I am doinig -- so if I have symptoms b/c I ate  certain food or didn't get enough sleep because I stayed up too late, I don't know if I would call that a wave, but some people might

The other is where I feel worse than I had been feeling despite no outside cause.  So for the past few weeks, I have had some neck and head tightness just sitting the house or going for a walk, where I did not have that problem 4 weeks ago and expect that this will go away over time.

I get a 'wave' about three days after a cut - usually a bad headache which resolves in a day or two...then the window returns and I feel pretty good until the next cut, then go through the same cycle again.

Hope your symptoms improve!

Shiloh,

I am starting to have a pattern similar to yours.

I think the terms waves and windows are really good short cut terms for describing the fact that you do or do not have symptoms at a particular time. If you can label it that simply, it is easier than having to rattle off all the symptoms that you have or don't have. The good thing is that most people I read about here have longer and longer windows and shorter and shorter waves, with time!! :yippee:
