I was on the Trap site and then they closed down.  I have tapered down on valium from multi benzo's including tamazapam, ambien and xanax.  I was doing well with taper then ordered new valium pills, 10 mg valium and 2 mg.  I was down to 7 mg at night.  I think they are different because now I take them and get no...none...affect.  I do not feel sleepy,  I lay awake.  I recently tapered down to 1/2 tab of the 5 mg and the one tab 2 mg.  I really think it is the new prescription manufacturing.  Can anyone help me with this.  I dont have the original ones but can different lots of pills be that different

Hi Anna,

Welcome to BB! Congratulations on tapering down so far. I have seen it stated that generics are allowed by law to contain within 20% of the active ingredient. I do not know if this is a proven fact. I DO know that I always knew when my pharmacy switched clonazepams on me. In the end I had to taper off the brand name drug bc the available generics just did not "hold" me.

As for different batches from the same generic manufacturer, I assume those can vary too. How long ago did you get the new pills? Do you feel as though you might be stabilizing? Sometimes getting new pills is like a cut in and of itself.

Thank you for your reply.  I have not been able to come off the .5 mg of valium.  I feel stuck there and sometimes have had to add it back up a little, with use of ambien or tamazapam.  So I have not had much luck in QTing.  I was able to sleep last night, for the first time, ever, without anything but today my cognition, ringing in ears,  and body pain are horrid.  I understand this to be benzo withdrawal symptoms.  Seems with such a small amount I should be able to go cold turkey and tough out the pain and confusion.  Its difficult but if I knew it would end soon, I could try and get through it.  Any advice.  Thanks

Hi AnnaKarina,

I've read in another forum post online that the Roche 10mg.(blue tablet) were really crappy and full of filler. I'm not sure if that's what you were given, but I've also read  that brand switching can be a real problem anyway.

Welcome to benzobuddies!
