thinking while sleeping

Is this common for any of you?

Its been occurring a lot for me where I'm already in thought before I "wake up" and open my eyes. It makes me question my sleep (since I'm not often feeling rested) and am just wondering if anyone else has gone through this.

Yeah...I've had trouble thinking about how to describe it, but that's a good way. It is very annoying! I have found that recently I can wait for it to stop by reading something and I'll fall back asleep. I'm not working so sleeping late is ok for me.

i just find that eversince my insomnia issues began, my sleeping wasn't just absent..it was like when i DID sleep the sleep is always very strange (tons of wakings, being in between thoughts & vivid dreams or half-awake states, cold sweats, weird twitches) so i've been worried my insomnia is more than ordinary. i never used to have an issue with waking up and feeling like i was already in thought before i "opened my eyes"..but maybe this is just another residual effect from post-benzo use and recovering sleep debt.

I had this early in wd and it is probably related to anxiety. My mind would start revving and when I did finally wake up it was in full overdrive worrying about anything and everything. I even had this when I was going through some high stress times back when I first started taking clonazepam. Back then it wasn't being caused by the drug, but what I experienced during wd that was caused by the drug was the exact same thing.
