[bm...]
When does the Social Anxiety and Agoraphobia settle down? It seems like at 2 months off, they are at an all time High! It's driving me crazy because I never had this many years ago before Benzo's. Can anyone offer any incite into what I'm going through for where I am off? [bm...]
Why do you say that? I'm so shaky, and my entire body is tingling. Just got back from the grocery store and it was so difficult to function with all those people. My Vision is super blurry and the left side of my head is tingling. I'm a mess! [pa...]
You are on track. Meaning, for the timeframe you have been off, you are having wds. Even though these are ard to experience and deal with, and it doesn,t seem like it, you are in a healing state. What the benzos did in controlling the GABA receptors, that is undone, as you have completed getting off that poison. Now your system is healing itself to get back to pre-benzo. It takes time, and the physical symptoms are scary when they first hit. What you want to try, is to do some slow deep breathing, in thru nose to diaphragm, hold til count of 5' blow slowly out from your mouth deflating your diaphragm. As you are breathing out, say to yourself "I,m calm I,m healing. You need to try to focus thought wise on something other then the sensations. Breathing like that, with your eyes closed will help calm the cns. You will be fine, none of these sensations or symptoms doing any harm to you. Just stay with the bbs, we will help you thru this. BREATHE!!! pattylu
[bm...]
How come when I wake up from a nap my skin is on fire?
[Au...]
What I think Hope-Fiend meant is that 2 months off is still very early in withdrawal. This will take time. It will get better though, but slowly. Listen to Pattylu...breathe... it's normal that the grocery store stimulated you... people, music, noise, it's alot for your nervous system to handle at only 2 months off. Try telling yourself, this is JUST withdrawal, my nervous system is going haywire because it is in over-drive right now...even though it's painful, it won't hurt me...breathe.... These symtoms are real ... but in my experience, stress and panic will make them worse... With that said, and I know it's super hard, try to tell yourself you will be ok. [bm...]
So Tingling all over body, Fingers spasming if I straighten them, watery blurry eyes, skin on fire, heart racing, left side head throbbing and tingling is all normal for where I am? [Au...]
Yes, normal for only 2 months off...absolutely. That being said, I am not a doctor... but I remember you saying that you have been checked by a doctor, and that all was ok, right? What I mean by that is, confirmation from a doctor that there is nothing else going on is a good thing. But if you have already done that, then yes, this sounds like withdrawal...and YES, normal for where you are... 2 months off is really early... it can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to be healed... of course, the intensity of sxs will decrease with time... you won't be THIS bad all of that time. Everything you said, tingling, blurry watery eyes, fingers spasming, are all documented withdrawal symptoms... and yes, many many people felt like you at 2 months off... heck, some couldn't even GO to the grocery store at 2 months off... so give yourself a pat on the back, you WENT If I remember correctly, I think you said in previous posts that the head throbbing was something you had before benzos... no? [bm...]
I went to Mayo clinic a year ago and got checked out when I cold turkeyed and they couldn't find anything, so it has to be withdrawal? I haven't been to the doc since but I had a million dollar work up, this is when I stopped ambien and 1mg of K at the same time. The Head situation i have had since before benzo's. The thing that scares me the most is that I will always have these symptoms and never get better, back to my old self.
[bm...]
The only thing I have been diagnosed with in my life is elevated blood pressure 140/90 and High cholestorel.
[Au...]
If you had the work up, and all was fine... and now you are having the same symptoms as when you stopped the drugs the first time, and your symptoms coincide with stopping the benzo a second time, AND your symtoms sound like everyone else's that have stopped benzos and are in wd... then I think it sounds alot like withdrawal to me. If you had the head thing before, then maybe possibly that's not withdrawal? But you had it checked, and they couldn't find anything...which is good!!!! Like you, I had a condition before wd...I had nerve pain...that is why I took the benzos in the first place. I stopped the benzos, had horrible withdrawals... 11 months out I am NOT healed yet...but I am MUCH better... and yes, I still have the nerve pain that I had before benzos... I too was checked, and they found nothing... yeah ! that comforts me when I get scared. Remind yourself that you have been checked, and all was fine. The rest is wd, and it WILL go away... you just have to get through the next little while... 2 months is EARLY...
[bm...]
I'm going to Diamon Headache Clinic tomorrow and I will hopefully get a better Idea of what's going on, I can tell you that on clonezepam The left sided head throbbing was hardly there at all, but I want to get to the root of the problem. [Au...]
That's great! I hope you get to the bottom of that head-thing. You talk about it being either muscular or nerve related... either way, if it was one of those, it would make sense that the clonazepam helped, it would have relaxed the muscle/nerve... but at what cost? Look at the withdrawals you're having now? If you would have stayed on it, you might have needed to updose eventually to get the same effect... then what? The clonazepam helped my nerve pain as well... but it made me feel sick everywhere else even while I was on it I felt sick... so I decided to stop and then got REALLY sick, with withdrawals... That's really good news about the clinic tomorrow... and if they don't find anything else wrong... then it'll suck cause u won't know why you have that head-thing...BUT you WILL know that there is nothing wrong with your brain! Good luck tomorrow... and if u need reminding that it'll be ok... keep posting...all of your Buddies will keep reminding you
[pa...]
Don't know if you have ever printed out ' Withdrawal Symptoms" list. The best one I found is at: http://www.benzosupport.org/symptoms.html Pattylu
