Labs Off

[...]

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I think the thought is that my high bp from my drug withdrawal is causing a problem with kidney/liver function and possibly this is a temporary problem that will clear up when I am done with withdrawal. Labs were not real high...doc is not concerned. I have been losing a lot of muscle during this process. I don't have any symptoms other then the lab, protein in my urine and high bp.

Thanks,

Bear

Is your BP normally a little high?  Mine has always been perfect but went up for quite a while the first year or so off. Nothing real high though. Then it went to the low end of normal, then back to my  normal.

I forgot what it's like to be a normal person. I want to be normal again.

Yes,  I have a high sed rate which mean inflammation and high liver enzymes.  We were thinking that taking Tylenol was messing with my liver.  The doc is also running test for MS and Lupus.  I've seen alot of people get tested for this.  Benzo wd mimics alot of autoimmune diseases.

I started introducing foods that decrease inflammation now and removed ALL suppliments.  We will see if it works.

I do think that there is an inflammation component to wd.  I lost my uterus to inflammation last Aug.  It had enlarged to a full term pg.

I do have concerns about my liver being inflammed now, so we are watching it very closely.

I had the high sed rate and creatinine (not sure about alk phos). I also had elevated liver enzymes and my electrolytes kept dropping or going dangerously high for no good reason. They ran all kinds of kidney tests because they thought I had kidney problems. They also tested me for Lupus and many other things. Everything came back inconclusive or perfect. I did have a high ANA, but I think the drugs did that. I'm fine now. For me it was the drugs. Even if my docs couldn't figure it out, I know once I got off the drugs I returned to normal.  Do the tests the doc wants to do and if he isn't concerned, then it probably is the drugs. That doesn't make you feel better, but at least you know it's likely temporary.

Good luck!

Hi all. Smoke, I hope to be normal some day soon too. I hope you feel better soon.

believe, how much tylenol did you take? I am taking that now. I am trying to keep the dose as low as possible.

recovered, it sounds like I just have to wait for my body to readjust.

Thanks,

Bear

Bear,  I was taking Nyquil nightly to help me sleep.  I stopped about 6 weeks ago to see if it would lower my liver enzymes.  It did only a little bit.  We are going to do more labs in a month.

Acetaminophen is in ALOT of stuff.  Overall it is best to take NOTHING.

I think our bodies are under so much stress in wd that it can tax any organ.  Treat yourself with gloves.  Eat organic, no alcohol, no OTC, no med, and drink lots of purified water.

We are fragile (mind, body, and soul).  Our objective is to keep ourselves as healthy as possible until we are thru wd and our body is back to homeostasis.

Recently had a urine test that showed very high protein. Am waiting a couple of weeks to have it tested again. If protein shows up again, I'll get more detailed workup done

Hi all. Cantbelieveit123, you have high protein too? I have lost a lot of muscle. That could be the reason. I have lost 80 pounds, muscle included.

I'm not known for my muscularity, so I couldn't tell you if I've lost muscle. I'm thinking it might be something with the kidneys though. I did a round of antibiotics a couple of weeks ago, and infection can cause protein in the urine. Giving it some time to watch for returning infection. I think I'm going to order some of those urinalysis test strips to check it myself before I go back to the Dr.
