[in...]
i started to taper off my Clonazepam..i chipped a tiny bit off the side of my 2mg tablet...i had to use a razor blade to cut it ...first i cut the tablet into 4s and than into 8ths....feel nothing yet but given the long half life of the drug....i expect to feel something in the next day or two....i talked to my gp about it and he said just cut it in half...do these guys know what they are talking about?? well my gp is a good doctor but sometimes i wonder how much they really know. i will keep you guys updated on events because i think im going to need some support on this one. cheers lis
[Pa...]
Hi ink8290, Since you have a good relationship with your Dr, you might want to ask him to prescribe you the smaller dose pills, this will make cutting the pills a little more precise. You want to taper as methodically as possible and just cutting little bits off of your 2 mg tablet is going to make it difficult to keep consistent. [fi...]
Ink, I am tapering Clonazepam and my doctor prescribed the .5 mg. tablets. They are easier to cut into smaller dosages that way. That, at least, is what I am doing. Sincerely, fg
[je...]
I was on the .5 clon tabs and just went to the .25 clon tabs. They are smaller and a bit trickier to cut but as I am now taking a smaller dose it seemed the way to go so i could get the smaller cuts and be precise. It is possible to dry taper by just cutting as many on here have done and are doing...i have great hope i too can get there! best of luck in your taper.....blessings jen
[in...]
thanks for the advice... we will see what happens regarding the withdrawels and as the process continues i may get a smaller dose size...thats a good idea i would make things more precise. cheers lis
[fi...]
Jenny, Are the .25 mg. the dissolvable Klonopin tabs? If so, do they crumble easily when you cut them? Sincerely, fg
[je...]
fg..... no the .25's are regular pills. They aren't even as soft really as the .5's...the .5's were orange and hard but chalky kinda like an uncoated aspirin......These .25's are much smaller and harder on the outside if this is making any sense. It is like they have a coating maybe? We have tried to cut one up just to see if it was going to be able to be done as I still had enough of the .5's cut when I was at those levels but now my taper has me at no daytime dose and my evening dose is at .75 mg which is three whole of the .25's. We did ok cutting them ...really no different than the .5's....just get smaller dosages in the same cut. I am in Canada too keep in mind. I have looked at what the American K looks like with a K on it and mine aren't like that at all. Mine are orange circles with .5 stamped on one side and they are scored down the center...makes for half pills easy. The .25's are about a third the size and rounder...not quite as flat...with .25 stamped on one side but no scoring on the one side. I just have to push hard and fast to split it with the blade. I have never heard of dissol. clon. tabs here....only ativan seems to come in dissolvable tabs...mainly little green ones...and they are teeny weenie...I have no idea the dose as I didnt take it but have just seen them...I could be totally wrong on dissolv. being avail. but as far as I know...no. Hope this answers some questions...more than just confusing you! Blessings.............Jen
[fi...]
Thanks, Jen. Yeah, it sounds like you definitely have different pills than I do. My .5 mg. pills are yellow and pretty easy to cut. The pharmacist told me that Klonopin also comes in .25 mg and .125 mg., but both of those are dissolving pills that you merely put on your tongue. At any rate, thanks so much for the information. I appreciate it! Sincerely, fg
