Night Time Panic Attack

I hate to just jump online and talk about myself, but I don't feel like I have any wisdom yet to pass on. I'm about 5 weeks into the taper, taking 2.5 mg Valium for the past 10 days. Last night I woke up feeling like I couldn't breathe. I've had a heart attack that felt much the same way--so the panic set in quickly. I took my blood pressure, and it was jumping all over the place. I began to gradually come back to earth and get a bit of fitfull sleep. I missed work in the morning but made it in the afternoon, and my chest continues to hurt (not badly). This has been my first really painful, frightening symptom since I started tapering. Additionally, a sort of shallow depression is beginning to set in, and absence of joy.

Firstly congratulations on your taper and commitment to getting off the valium.  Thank you for your post.  That is what the BB is here for!!
