Silver Linings

I wanted to start this topic so that I would have a place to come to celebrate any small win or share any thing beautiful that I noticed in my world. Today I’m noticing how much I love the weather. It’s sunny and cold and crisp with the clearest blue sky.

I walked to the mailbox just to have a little walking goal met,  and it felt so good to feel that cool air on my face.

I love seeing the sun rise during my early morning walks, @[Fi...]. It is very cold, but I bundle up and love greeting the other early morning walkers and joggers.

I enjoyed a walk along the river today, I bundled up in two coats, a scarf, hat and gloves because it was cold but sunny.  We really got a treat when we got to see some ducks that migrate to the river every winter.  They spook easy so when we were able to see 6 of them, it was great.

I remember last winter when I got interested in taking photos due to @[sh...]'s amazing thread here, I started looking for beauties everywhere around me when walking. That was my first pic and when I look at it now I still feel that piercing sensation of the new life dawn I lived with then.

Good thread. I love walking each morning that I can, and being able to see all the little critters preparing for their day and how wonderful Mother Nature is for all of us to enjoy. If we can walk and get out that is a big plus, nothing like fresh air, even when it is so hot or cold. It has been during many of these walks, I was able to tell myself, that I could and would get off of the Valium, because I was amongst many little creatures that to survive they had to keep on doing their thing, and so could I.

My cat (Phineas aka Finny) brings me so much delight! He's by my side so much and sometimes looks so lovingly into my eyes 😍

I really noticed how the sunlight played on his fur in the afternoon light yesterday. ✨ 
I think it’s funny that I made my username what it is because of him.

@[Fi...], such a beautiful cat Phineas with gorgeous silky fur pleasant for stroking! But I can't make out what actual colour he is... Grey, red or kind of brown?

I've heard that cats take away negativity and pain. Can you feel it when he is close by?

@[...]  he is actually a black cat with green eyes, but the sunlight picks up the red undertones in his fur that he did not used to have. As he gets older, the reddish color shows up in the sunlight I’ll post another picture of him in a little bit.
I can feel him absorbing some of the pain for sure.

In the middle of these sometimes unbelievable withdrawal symptoms, I look out my window and notice that the shrubs that were cut back and bare have grown beautiful, new glossy green leaves. 
I feel like I’ve been cut way back, but I’m hanging onto the image of the new growth and picturing my brain and body growing new connections and neurons. We are healing.

What a great idea, I need this! Am tapering and holding atm and think positive vibes is what I need! So here is a picture of the Christmas tree I decorated over the last 2 days 🎄🤩 Wasn’t able to do it last year, so it’s a double win!
