Changes to Success Stories & Milestones

Earlier this year, we switched to queuing comments to Success Stories for moderation approval. We did this because too many comments failed to adhere to the guidelines for the space - ie that they should be focused upon the achievements reported in the Story rather than seeking advice. For Success Stories to fulfill their primary purpose, the Story (and responses) should be uplifting in nature so as to inspire those still going the process of withdrawal or recovery. Please adhere to the updated guidelines displayed at the top of the Stories forum:

When writing a Success Story, please adhere to the following guidelines:

• It must be at least 3 months since taking your last benzodiazepine
• Your message should be uplifting and positive, and aim to inspire others to achieve their goals

Replies to Stories:

• Should be positive and focused on the author’s story and accomplishments

As you might have already noticed, we recently moved the Milestones forum out of the Archive and back into regular use. Please use Milestones to celebrate any major benzodiazepine achievements, particularly when you become benzo-free, or 1-year free, that kind of thing. But you can use Milestones to celebrate anything important to you.

Please use the relevant tags and prefixes (available to you when composing your topic). Prefixes will make your particular milestone stand out, indicating the nature of your achievement. And tags will enable other members to search out topics using the particular tag. You will normally use just one tag/prefix.
