@[al...], I can see you know what you need but how frustrating to be held back when you're the one who is trying to do this the right way.  I understand doctors are plagued with addicts seeking drugs but in my experience, its pretty easy to tell an addict from someone who is genuinely trying to get off of this medication.  Whatever happened to "do no harm", do they think forcing you into brutal and horrific withdrawals honors that?  I know I'm preaching to the choir here but this really makes me angry. 

I'm glad you're being proactive, I hope it pays off.  And I hope the extra Xanax you found gives you some relief when the going gets rough.

Thank You @Pamster . I also think that if I could write myself prescriptions I would be off these drugs by now. I am really going to look for a more knowledgeable doctor abroad. I know that Peter Gotzsche supervised some psychiatry PhD students in Denmark who help patients get off. Now I will be looking for them.

Hi @Pamster. I got an international list of doctors who help patients slowly taper psychiatric drugs listed by a country from professor Gotzsche from Denmark. So there are doctors in Europe too who help, listed by a country. Could I leave a link to the list here and could you publish it in a visible place? Maybe it will make it easier for some members of the forum to get help.

Hi @[al...], I didn't see your post because you weren't able to capture my username when you typed my username.  When you use the @mention, a drop down list will appear, you click on that when you see my name pop up, this will alert me.
