@[Tr...] I am so sorry you are experiencing this “boaty-dizzy” sensation. I also experience it and it can be debilitating. For me it seems to, frustratingly, increase or decrease in a random fashion. Recently, in addition to its normal ebb and flow, I have noticed it is particularly heightened when I am in/or recovering from a stressful event. In the past, it intensified whenever I tried to make a larger than normal reduction in my dose. I also had a really bad “patch” for several weeks during and after transitioning from pills to the liquid formulation of Ativan.  Sadly, everyday enjoyable activities, like walking, gardening, family gatherings, become virtually impossible when it is most intense.

So, I cannot offered any advice…just my deepest sympathies!  But...I am always hoping (and believing) that it will eventually resolve!

Congratulations on your tapering success!

Hi @[El...], thank you so much for your kind words and sharing your experience! I really appreciate it! This boaty feeling affects me at random, too and increases when I am under stress or in a hurry.

My heart goes out to you! I hope and pray that we all recover very fast from this boaty-dizzy feeling!

Take care and let your taper be smooth and uneventful!

Hi,@[Tr...]. My dizziness was constant for two months after my last 50% cut, muscle weakness too. My legs and my head were with their own opinions where I should go. Maybe walking helped me a lot to overcome this but anyway I didn't have other options as I am working and this requires movement.

I don't think that one must push for walking long distances but rather short and frequent. I know that it's hard for many but it gets harder if there is not movement. I hope these symptoms will pass for you soon.

Hi @[No...], thank you so much for the kind words and advice! I am so sorry that you suffered with constant dizziness and muscle pain for a month!

I am currently making between 2000 and 3500  steps per day. Do you think it is sufficient or should I try to increase a little? I know that one should make 10 000 steps per day, but this is completely impossible for me now. Do you know how many steps per day you make?

I am also doing some simple strength exercises for my legs, because every day I have episodes during which they feel like jelly legs.

@[Tr...], I don't believe in this "10 000 steps" thing. In our situation most important is to be gentle with ourselves. I believe walking outside is in huge help, if you can do most of these 2000 - 3 500 steps outside on fresh air it's great. My legs were jelly too, now at least walking isn't problem for me. But if I stop move enough I start to get worse again.

You are always welcome, I just hope this to help you like it helps me.

Hi @[No...], thank you so much for your advice! I will try to walk outside as much as possible, now that it’s cold. Last week I walked outside 3 times and inside our spacious livingroom 4 times.

Take care and let your taper be smooth and uneventful!

Kate, you said "once" after a few months of use? Have you been on it more than once? When you did the CT, how long had you been taking it and at what dose?

@[An...], actually I took different benzos but never for too long except the last time. Once it was clonazepam for 3-5 months, daily, low dose about 0.5. Sorry, I don't remember details because didn't think much of benzo then. Never knew anything about their withdrawal, tolerance and kindling. I wish I had learnt it all before taking benzo for the last time.
