4 years off today

Well right now I should be writing my success story but I just can’t yet. I was doing extremly well for a long time. Then about a month ago I needed to take an antibiotic and boom set me back about 2years. Head pressure, headaches, vision problems, anxiety, tremors, intrusive thought, chest pain and pressure, the list goes on. I can’t believe I’m right back here again. I was a short term user too. When does this end?

I'm sorry this happened to you @[Pa...] .  Unfortunately members often report this kind of reaction to antibiotics.  I know it feels incredibly discouraging. No one can tell you how long it will last but I don't believe the progress your central nervous system has made in healing is wiped out.  Even though it feels like you've been set back 2 years I believe your system will find equilibrium considerably sooner than that.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this rn. I’m sure with time things will even out. Do you mind me asking what antibiotic you were taking that did this? I’m still pretty much in the thick of a taper myself and more knowledge as I go is always helpful. If you don’t want to share I totally understand. Again, hope you feel better soon.

Antibiotics are like Russian roulette. Sure we all know to avoid flouroquinolones like cipro but even the less harmful ones have set people back months of not longer. It really is a total gamble. Someone can say oh I took amoxicillin or augmentin and I was fine and the next person can be right back in hell for a year due to the same one. Flagyl isn’t a flouroquinolone but I took it two years ago and it took me a year to recover. Never again will I take an antibiotic.

Hey Packy , same here old friend . Was off 4 years Sept 19 and hit a wave with simulR symptoms to yours. Still with the lower abdominal tightness. Most of my waves are after overexertion. Hang In there buddy. Music60

I've just been on Doxycycline it's 2weeks since I've finished them feel dreadful headache palpitations etc
