Onset of withdrawal symptoms when tapering off clonazapam

I just started tapering off clonazapam and was curious what the typical time frame is to start feeling any potential withdrawal symptoms following a taper.

I have related question. For those who are in the process of tapering or have recently gone to zero. Are the withdrawal symptoms non-stop or do they come and go throughout the day?

Half life for Clonazepam is listed between 18-50 hours, I've read here that you can expect symptoms up to 3 weeks later.  How's that for exact science?  >:(

I’m tapering off clonazepam.  Wd symptoms tend to start 4 days after a cut for me.  They last about 2 weeks.  I hold the cut a month until I’m very stable.  Wd symptoms vary intensity.  Some are horrible but don’t last.  Others are more persistent but last longer.  I’ve never had them all at once.  Smaller cuts are easier.  I’ve had cuts that felt like nothing much, others that felt pretty bad.  No telling why.  Worst symptoms have been brain zaps and body shocks.  Only happened briefly, though.  Nausea was icky but like the flu and were  gone in a couple days.  Insomnia, but I didn’t fight it.  It passed.  I refuse to updose, tell myself these are recovery symptoms and will pass.  Try not to over focus on it.  Get distracted and have confidence you will heal.

Healing64, during your taper do you have periods (hours or minutes) throughout the day where you are withdrawal symptom free and feel fine and then later BAM the withdrawal hits for an hour or two and you feel awful?  Does it cycle like that or is it varying withdrawal symptoms that last all day long? Thanks

Hi, I´m tapering Clonazepam since early December 2019. Have no serious wd sxs, only same sxs that before tapering, even less. I feel the cut between the 1st and 5th day  I cut every 7 or 8 days, from 0.5 mg K to 0.25 mg now, in 4 steps. I (suppose, never shure) am stabilized on 0.25, maybe Will try micro tapering not to feel the cut. Short of air is what I feel when I cut or when I didn´t cut exactly. Luckily I got 0.25mg pills to take the exact dose.

I’m tapering Klonopin. After a cut, I feel weak and fatigued in the days after, but 10-14 days seems to be the most severe symptoms.  Panic, fear, vertigo, light sensitivity. The 3rd week is usually when most symptoms start to subside a bit.  Then I do it all over again. And again.  I’m almost done though.

Nizzy,

I have windows of feeling better.  And waves of feeling awful.  The waves don’t last, and I remind myself of that.  I distract myself.  The windows get wider, and by 1 month after a cut, I feel good.  Everyone is different about time frames, though.  I’m at .125 liquid dose once daily at night.  Soon I’ll cut again.  I hate the waves and feel fearful when I cut.  But I want off.  So, I tell myself so far so good, I’m healing.  Nothing horrible has happened.  In fact, the worst already did because I blindly got dependent on these meds.  You can handle the waves.  Go slow.  Be brave.
