Hi

I’ve been on .25 ( 1/2 of .5) Valium at night  for 3 yrs due to my back to help relax my muscles I was suppose to take it .5 2x a day but that seemed high so I cut the little pill in half. Meds make me nervous

New dr won’t refill it & new ins doesn’t cover it

I’m not sure what to do or expect

I take generic lyrica Motrin & cbd & that’s it

I have auto immune.

I didn’t even know Valium was a benzo. 4 yrs ago I was off clonapam after 6/7 yrs. Finally got off Gabapentin ( dr had me on both lyrica & gaba pharmacy said “ that’s not healthy”

I am trying to figure out withdrawal symptoms how long & anything that might help

Thank you

Hello Strugglingfighter, Welcome to BenzoBuddies!

I'm sorry to hear you're going to be cut off from your medication, can I ask a couple of questions to better understand your situation?  When you quit the Clonazepam 4 years ago, how did that feel, did you experience withdrawal symptoms?  Also, do you have any of your Valium left?

I just need to know the answers so I can better direct you to the appropriate area of the forum.

I quit because I don’t think it worked ( it was for leg pain) no I don’t remember symptoms

I have 1 pill of Valium left & I would be cutting it in half.

I haven’t taken it in 3 days maybe. The script was written in Jan for 20 days. The dr knows I don’t take it whole.

Not everyone will suffer withdrawal symptoms, you may be one of the lucky ones if you don't recall feeling bad when you stopped taking the Clonazepam.  Valium has a long half life so be on the lookout for symptoms starting from 2 days to 3 weeks.  If you do experience symptoms, the only thing that really helps is to go back on the drug and do a slow taper from it, but even this will leave you with symptoms.

Hopefully you'll be just fine, but please let us know if you begin to get uncomfortable, I'll leave you with a link to  The Ashton Manual so you can know what to expect.  Chapter 3 will list possible symptoms.
