I’ve been on .25 Xanax for years. I have dx of bipolar 2 and am also taking 300 mg of lamictal and 25 mg of pristiq which I’m tapering off.  I’m not feeling a ton of side effects

From Xanax. I’m starting to increase in some anxiety but can also be attributed to life situation. I’m a single mom with a horrible ex husband (narcissistic) who holds me hostage with money. I’ve recently started my own business to give myself the opportunity to increase my income. A lot of stress and anxiety

Hi My new life. Welcome to Benzobuddies!

I am glad you found us, you will get plenty of support here. I am sorry your having issues with your ex, you could do without that kind of stress.  I wouldn't try to taper off too many drugs. I would taper one drug at a time, benzodiazepines should be tapered slowly.  You will receive a lot of support and information here on withdrawing from benzodiazepines.  A gradual taper of 5-10% every 10-14 days is generally recommended.

I am going leave a link to the Ashton Manual, a great source of information about these types of medications and how to withdraw.

“Professor Ashtons Manual”

Feel free to post to any of the dedicated boards.  We have a wonderful community of people here.  Our members have been through all aspects of benzodiazepine use and withdrawal and are more than willing to share their experiences.

Here are a few links to information on tapering and withdrawal support:

If you would be so kind as to add a signature (history of meds/doses etc) it will help members give you relevant advice this link will show you how to”Create a signature”

Welcome! I'm glad you found us. I recently finished my taper. I could not have done it without the information and validation I received on this forum. Spend some time exploring the site and you will find many resources to help you taper off successfully. You will make it and it will be worth it!

Hi new life, I've been on xanax for over 25 yrs. I found BB last summer and have gained so much support from good people who truly understand. One important thing I should mention is everyone's taper is individual. We all experience a lot of the same symtoms but to varying degrees. I would suggest familiarizing yourself with BB and find a group on here that seems to fit. But you will find support so throughout BB, many willing to help.

Good luck,

Trish
