Has anyone gotten dental work while recovering? I had some done while tapering but i was always in a state of waves then so I don't know if it would set me off now.Unfortunately I set myself off a couple of weeks ago by smoking weed (I was getting cocky because I felt so good at the time) Everything got set off and I've been very slowly getting back to a better place. Im still so sensitive that eating sugar gives me waves...so I'm really concerned about anesthetics that are injected into your gums...have any of you gotten work Done to your teeth while recovering and were injections a problem? Im working now and I just don't want fall apart and become unable to work due to waves. thanks in advance

I had no problems going to the dentist last week. But it seems more about stressful events setting off symptoms. So, if going to the dentist stresses you out, that might be an issue.

Edit: Typo.

I have had fillings done twice and ask the dentist to use Carbocaine and I had zero symptoms.

I wanted to chime in and say yes, I went in when I was 3 months off and I was fine. I dreaded it and feared it for going on a week before but gave myself a pep talk that everything was going to be alright and it was. The experience was far away from everything I feared. I had a cleaning done then two fillings right next to each other. It helped to tell the dentist I was nervous and explained a little about coming off a medication. I think it helps to speak it out and diffuses the anxiousness a bit when we do that. The dentist was efficient and swift in getting things done comfortably. I hope your experience goes well. I had no set backs from the experience either.

Check out hellbitrin new post about her recent experience with general anethesia.

As for local anethesia, it might be less risky. Taking anything orally can potentially cause setbacks.
