Hi zoey64  Welcome to Benzobuddies

We are glad you joined. I am sorry you suffered a nervous breakdown, you must have been through a lot.  You are making a great decision to taper benzos. You will get plenty of support here.  In general it’s advised to cut your daily dose by between 5% and 10% every 10 - 14 days.  This schedule can be altered depending on how you feel.  Whatever feels comfortable, the goal is to try to keep any symptoms manageable.

Check out the Ashton Manual, It’s great for understanding the effect benzodiazepines have on our body.  It also provides tapering and withdrawal information.  You will find some valuable support and info on the forum.  Please feel free to browse the boards and post questions to any of the dedicated threads.

I'll leave you a few links:

If you could please add a signature (history of meds/doses etc) it will help members give you relevant advice.  Go to the top of the page and select PROFILE then choose forum profile then insert drug history into the text box and remember to click change profile

Welcome aboard

Welcome! I'm glad you found us. I recently finished my taper. I could not have done it without the information and validation I received on this forum. Spend some time exploring the site and you will find many resources to help you taper off successfully. You will make it and it will be worth it!
