I need to sleep tonight, please vote: Antihistamine or Melatonin

I have a big day at work tomorrow.  My sleep is always affected by anxiety about work.

People have been telling me to not use Chamomile Tea because it might impact benzo recovery.

What success have you all had with Antihistamines vs Melatonin - just for emergency needs like tonight?

As noted in your other post, I doubt Chamomile tea is a problem. I've used both of the others. Melatonin doesn't seem to do much for me if I really need to sleep, so I use Benadryl.

Have you ever tried Unisom

No. But a number of other people on the forum have used it.

Sounds like it is anticipatory anxiety. I get this a lot too. Anyway you can try to calm your mind for the rest of the day? There are some good tips on the Anxiety forum:

Melatonin 1.5mg take it timely after sunset or dinner.

Helped me a lot during acute.

Doxylamine usually works well for me. It’s an otc antihistamine.

I vote antihistamine.  On melatonin, I have had issues where I didn't fall asleep, but lay in bed feeling to tired to move.  I didn't like that feeling.  Benadryl actually helps me sleep for at least 4 hours.

I’m so glad you mention that Greencup.  Now that you say it, I think I’ve had that problem before when I tried melatonin last year. Looks like it’s going to be an antihistamine for me tonight
