At 17 months off I had a few people over to my house yesterday, my mom, aunt and cousin. I was so overstimulated I couldn’t sit with them and conversate. I felt like an anxious going out of my mind wreck. I had to stay in my room the entire day while they were here. Even this morning being downstairs where my kids are my brain feels awful, drugged just awful. I can’t take this much longer, it’s getting worse. I honestly don’t feel this is withdrawal. I really don’t.  Forget leaving the house too that would be a nightmare. Why at 17 months off it’s getting worse?? I know my neuro said cfs symptoms, he’s especially worried about the overstumaukrion and now when I walk in weak and trembly heart racing. Told me to take it easy, but he knows I don’t want meds so I guess he’s letting meds. Is this chronic fatigue syndrome? Look up sensory overload and cfs it matches me to a T!!! Severe cases of cfs can’t be around people or have any stimulation. Just like me. My body aches and I wake up feeling drugged.

I know that since my DR is back, it is like this for me. I told my doctor that my head feels drunk and my central nervous system feels like it’s hungover. Sensitive to everything. I can’t say for sure if it’s chronic fatigue syndrome for you but I can tell you that benzo withdrawal mimics so many sicknesses that it can be so hard to figure out what is causing what. I know how frustrating it can feel to want answers. Sorry this is hanging on like it is for you. I couldn’t imagine not being able to care for my little ones.

Yes it does, unfortunately we have to be patient

This is exactly how I feel and I'm 20 months out today. Just last week we had my son over and I wasn't able to sit with him and my husband because it was way too overstimulating for me. I think central nervous system still needs to heal more. I find it very discouraging. I can't even watch television because it's way too overstimulating for me. Hugs!

First of all I love the word conversate. I have not heard it in forever. :)

I went from not being able to cancel an appointment (make a call) to back to dealing with customers and working at a farmer's market. It will get better. At first, I would feel exhausted and anxious when starting to talk again with people and literally hope for the ground to open up and let me go in and gradually it got better and better. Ever so gradually.

:)
