I jumped a week ago from 0.5 of valium. It's taken me 26 months and I started at 12mg.

Feeling mega spaced out and I've got a stinking cold but at least I'm done with it  :) :) looking forward to my recovery  :D :D

I'm curious to see how a longer taper helps. I did mine in six months, but my doctor recommended eight. Dr Wright suggested a 12-18 month period.

Good luck!

Yay for you!!!! Awesome!! I don't think I'll announce it until about a week after I've jumped, either.

Can you share your taper schedule? I'm curious about how the slow taper goes as well, especially after 2.5mg.

Thanks

Congrats Mat!! Patience is key!

If you can reach the zero, you can beat any challenge, believe me.

Hope I'm replying correctly,  I tapered 1mg a every 2 weeks and then 1mg per month. Sometimes I waited 2 months to balance out. Towards the end I tapered 0.5 a month. There didn't seem to be any logic to the order of my symptoms. Sometimes I felt better for the taper and other I felt awful. Jumping form 0.5 wasn't too bad. Good luck. xx
