I’m getting health anxiety coming on again because of some returning symptoms I thought had gone months ago. The intense imbalance/cog fog with intense upper back tingling and pain with fatigue going on two days now. I can literally feel my heart beat in my upper back. I’ve iced it and took Tylenol with little relief. I’m curious to hear if anyone has ever had the same concerns or actually went through with getting checked for MS? My doctor has me seeing a neurologist on the 22nd for this very reason. I was about to cancel my appointment but now the symptoms are back again just like acute.

Yes, had mri of entire spine and lumbar puncture. Negative of course. It’s not MS.

thanks for chiming in guys. I supposed it won’t hurt to still see the neurologist to see what he has to say. Maybe he can explain why benzo wd mimics MS or maybe he won’t have a clue...

I’ve seen two, neither had a clue though one at least entertained the idea.  Maybe you’ll get lucky.

I just saw a doc for the results of my sleep study. She has worked with people getting off benzos, knew some of the issues with withdrawal, and was aware of (and is going to watch) the Lisa Ling show this weekend. So, I wouldn't count out finding someone that has some knowledge about BWD. Then the rest will be up to you.

Ican, so what is it that you do for a living? Did you end up following through with any tests?

Yeah, I followed through and had every tests done, even genetics for rare dystrophies. All negative.

Iwillrise,

I had your symptoms, but I never got tested for MS.  I’m glad people chimed in and told you their experiences.  It must be reassuring that other members were tested and the results were negative for MS.  Phew!

Health anxiety is pretty awful during this journey.  Fear presents itself in so many ways.  Other members were fearful before they got tested.  Then they were RELIEVED.

The reassurance that nothing is wrong is well worth the deep breath you have to suck up and go see the doctor.  You’ll be elated once you’re done and you can exhale.

Yes, I had intense fog, confusion, imbalance, and huge fatigue, not back pain. It started from my cervical imbalance, and was made worst by benzo wd. I did a particolar cure of cervical and mouth occlusion to bring these in vertical axis, and these sympthoms gradually faded away, completely.

Wow, jaco that's a rather fast healing!

Happy for you!

Jaco, I read your sig. Glad you’re feeling better and close to recovery! Did you ever have derealization or depersonalization at all? And if so, has it gone? I got hit with acute symptoms about three weeks ago after several panic attacks in a row over a course of 5 days or so. It all happened The day I turned 5 months off actually .

Iwillrise, thankyou! I had some derealization in the worst period of withdrawal but very temporary, I remember I was very helped by mindfulness.. I had so many sympthoms and I was helped a lot by costant minfulness pratice.. I'm so sorry for your wave, I hope it goes away quickly..

4mom thanks :) it's not fast healing considering that I began tapering more than 3 years and half ago, passed through hell and now still struggling with insomnia.. but I'm very happy this is my last sympthom (apart mild tinnitus). Last month I'm having a strange wave, I never fall asleep before 6 am :( I want to sleeeeep

Demelza, the upper back tingling and fatigue is still there for me too. It went away for almost two months but came back after my panic attack :( I haven’t seen anyone else describe that they have this symptom that’s why l started to worry. It comes on with DR with me. I feel it most in the morning when I first wake up making breakfast or doing stuff in the kitchen. It’s like someone plugged me into a light socket for a few seconds. Very uncomfortable feeling.
