Need advice on taper of Ativan

Hi. I have been taking Ativan for over 30 years for extreme panic, anxiety and agoraphobia. About 15 years ago I was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson’s. Never knew that that Ativan could be a danger. Several doctors said it was fine to continue taking it. Now I hear it could be the cause of all my symptoms. I want to taper but I’m really scared.  Somebody suggested joining this group for help.

First, your going to be ok.  Please start learning coping techniques, they will help tremendously. We have them here, there are a few very good ones on YouTube. Additionally, we have links on tapering, and information sheets that will provide the education you need to understand why things are happening, and see that these sensations are completely normal. Learn as much as you canbefore starting your taper. You can then start on a plan that you feel is best for you.
