I lost my libido many years ago I believe from antidepressants.  I'm now learning that this is permanent.  I went a few years without taking any psych drugs and It never came back.

Mine wasn't.  I don't think you can responsibly attribute anything is permanent, or even the result of something else, while going through the benzo shit.

Why do you say it is permanent?? In my opinion you'll recover your libido when you heal, as we all will do with what we've lost with the benzos:

* memory

* interest in life

* deep connection with the ones we love

* natural and normal sleep

* etc.

I've read about many BB fellows that have recovered their previous life!

I'm 8 months out no desire for sex. I can't live without it for one week now months pass. I've to force myself to have sex. I'm just living a black and white life. I've also developed ED. I don't think I'm getting it back in the near future.

I'm a useless creature without sex.

That's a really sad experience. I've got some of the same issues. Well, my sex drive has returned somewhat since I'm not on any psych meds now. I noticed that it picked up some after tapering everything. But, probably still too early to tell with all the anxiety.

Mine was not permanent, instead it is stronger than it has ever been without the birth control pill and the horrible benzos, ADs and all the shitty stuff I was on.

When I was off I changed my diet and I think this had also a big effect on my libido. Even today, 3 years off, still on this diet, I can see my libido getting lower when I eat a lot of sugar, drink too much coffee etc. I have also been taking the supplements which I was lacking, had some bloodwork done and when the minerals were slowly rising again, the sex drive became stronger as well.

And I (sorry that I frankly tell that) "trained" my body. I wanted it to wake up. Boring and funny experience first, life saver for later.

I think the libido is a natural sign for health and goes with general wellbeing and -feeling. I would not give up yet or even take a new medication.

Under medication I was a zombie, no wish to have sex, forced myself to have sex, and even when I liked it, compared to what I know now I would say my sexual desire and feeling was about 10% of what I have now. The member Lapis lately posted a topic about a study which has clearly shown that scientists treated rats with ADs to get to know if female orgasm would fail then, and of course, yes, female orgasms did not happen.

Chin up everyone who is still waiting! I have lost years of wonderful emotions, feelings and I hated my body in the end believing the doctors that it was all my fault - no!no! no! Do not give up yet!

You can read the study, have you searched here under chewing the fat section?
