Hi buddies,

Among all others pains, I started having very severe tailbone pain 5 months into tapering. I'm now off and the tailbone pain stays the same.

It's constant not like my other pain which comes and goes. I injured my lower back and why valium was prescribed the same time so the tailbone pain started 6 months after the injury.

All other sx I'm very sure it's from drug, only this one confuses me all these times. I can't sit at all sue to the pain even with a cushion. I can feel the specific spot (the end tip) that is painful when being pressed.

Anyone had/has tailbone pain without physical injury?

Thanks!

Funny you should say 4mom, it's a symptom I have just started to experience at 7 months out Valium.

Maybe I've been sitting on my arse for too long.  :)

Thanks so much Dee for chiming in! I have been puzzled all these months but feel a bit awkward to post.

I'm so sorry you are getting it too!

Wow, can't believe it, such a bazziar sx even more than all the other insane sx these drugs can cause.

I hope mine is indeed from wd though, as I won't be able to afford any medical treatment due to extreme sensitivity to everything, and there should be a chance to heal naturally if it's from the drug.

Is yours constant? Can you feel the specific pain spot when press on it? All my other pains feel like nerve or muscle but this one feels different just the very end of the bone, very painful when being pressed.

How are you doing otherwise? Hope you are seeing good improvement overall!

Love and Hugs,

That is a bizarre one. Nothing really surprises me now, though. Can you try a heating pad to reduce the pain?

Hi think,

Indeed, and why I always think it is from my back injury. But I did hear a few reports having it too without any injury, so I'm hoping..

I tried everything hot, cold, and some topical pain killer nothing touches it.

We jumped at the same time in June. How are you doing?

Sending you healing vibes and hugs!

I have a terrible piriformis syndrome which is completely withdrawal related. It's awful. I've seen many in this forum reporting tailbone pain as a wd sxs.

No, it's not constant 4mom, and is what has me believe it's withdrawal.  I've even thought about getting one of those inflatable rubber rings to sit upon.  :D.  Oh no, that's too much for me to contemplate.

It doesn't hurt when I press it, it is just discomfort, ache.  Then next day, it abates.  Back a day later.  I've had a lot of bone pain during withdrawal, just another bone, this time the tail.

I'd never heard of piriformis Syndrome Valiumnomore, but have noticed with the tailbone I am getting sciatic pain, which I did not have before withdrawal.

I've given up feeling awkward about this stuff 4mom.  I would never have believed I'd be discussing inflatable rubber rings with anyone, ever.  :-[

Hi valiumnomore,

Thank you for chiming in. Yes, piriformis like sx due to muscle contraction is with me too, although the tailbone pain is particular and not typical part of piriformis.

Do you have bad muscle contraction? That is the cause of my extreme and various types of body and joint dysfunction.

Thanks so much Dee for further explaining !

Yours are surely wd related. I doubt mine is though as it's different, especialky the pressing pain on the particular spot. :(

4mom,

Tailbone pain began months ago.  Awful, can’t sit.  No prior injury.  I’ve read it’s common wd sxs.

9 months post ct.

Hiya 4mom,

I had a pretty good day yesterday. But today has been a total shitshow. Woke up with anxiety at 3am and things just went down hill from there. I'm hanging on.

Yes 4 mom. Constant muscle contraction no matter how much I stretch and how much physical therapy I pay for. So I've stopped going.

Hi Sara,

Thank for the very needed reassurance!! But I'm sorry you got this odd sx too :(.  This one really shows the 'everything is possible' in benzo wd.

Counting days for sign of improvement. Many ppl see it in 4-5 months so we just continue moving forward one day at a time.

Hi think,

That is a good sign that you got a window Day! I know how you feel to be back to the hell especially after a window. Please hold on to the window to ride out the waves. Take good care and hold strong for more bigger and wider windows to come!!

Hi valiumnomore,

That must be it, the screwed muscle contraction. I found it even worse to use the muscle including stretching. Only thing helps a bit is walking.

Can't believe how evil these drugs are.

Welcome to the club ajusta!

Hope you are hanging on a bit easier.

Yes, me too. Tail bone's always uncomfortable for the last year or more. Hips and rib cage ends as well.

Hi,

Yeah, walking seems to be pretty much good for healing everything. I wonder if my tail has hurt because I was sitting a lot? I sit on a heating pad occasionally.

We're all riding it out on the bones of our arse in way or another.

Hanging on by the seat of my pants.

Careful sitting ON the heating pad, I developed this nasty rash called erythema ab igne (google pictures) from doing just that for my lower back and ass pain. It can be permanent and sometimes precancerous. Took several months to go away. I will say though, I still do it but at lowest heat setting and take breaks every 30 minutes or so. Came back mildly once, but I have to weigh risk/benefit. It’s that or pain pills sometimes.

4mom, I've not read this whole thread so I don't know if you've gotten any relief, yet, but if you're interested, homeopathic hypericum might possibly help. Homeopathic is different than herbal and usually comes in little white pellets. Usually a health food store would carry it or Amazon.
