Hey everyone, I’m in the midst of a terrible wave and got a sinus and ear infection at the same time. I’m on amoxicillin and I guess I’m doing OK on it, although it’s hard to tell when having a horrible wave! I have to fly in a couple days and my head is so congested. I would normally use Sudafed and

Afran nasal spray, But have been told some people have horrible reactions. I greatly appreciate anyone telling me positive or negative experiences with nasal spray In withdrawl. Thank you so much!

I think sudafed and afran are bad even without benzo wd.  For me, sudafed raises my blood pressure a lot.  Have you considered an antihistimine like benadryl instead?  I also like Dimatapp cold and allergy.  Don't get the Dimatapp cold and cough - that cough stuff is bad too.  If you decide to take anything, I would recommend trying it a couple times at home before travel to see how you react.  The antihistimines will make you  sleepy so be careful driving, but that might help if you are on a long flight.

Also, if you decide to try benadryl, I suggest the tablets rather than the capsules. They are easy to break into 1/2 or even 1/4 pieces.

I would strongly suggest, although I probably read this too late, but the cillin drugs, especially penicillin is one the NAM list and is the worst

thing you could take while on a benzo of any kind.  It completely dislodges the Gaba neurotransmitters from the receptor sites and you have

no GABA working at all.  You are on full fight or flight mode and no "rest or relaxation" mechanisms in place.  This drug acts just like a

fluroquinolone drug.  I had an acute reaction that left me bed bound for 6 months after amoxicillin use.  Then another antibiotic gave me a mild heart attack.

The only thing I have ever read is that a rescue dose of a larger amount of a benzo for a short time may stave off the exacerbated symptoms.

This of course would be at your own discretion but if I would have know, I would have tried this.  Just my thoughts.

Good luck and God bless.
