I am relatively new. Since I started a bad taper from six weeks of Ativan use I have major problem with constipation. I may need to go to hospital island it’s Strange like I know I’m backed up I went some about 6 days ago.  But also I am wondering if it is because I kinda feel numb in the area like lower pelvic I can urinate but even that I think my private areas are kinda numb.  Idk what to do.  It’s very concerning very.  I scared to go to hospital but I tried mryalax stoolsoffeners and have not went much in last month

After a day or two of miralax, you may find adding a stimulant like coloxal and SENNA to kick things off helps..?? Cramping may be a restricting factor so it might take a bit of gentle trial and error...  The problem may be small bowel too, so things that target the large bowel can be less effective than general constipation...  Obviously watch your diet and things like bread and pain meds etc..

Try some prunes, and remember the extra water...

Otherwise it might take the “big guns”, like say Prucalopride (Resotrans), but look into it to be sure your ok with the idea (there are probs lots of lesser options to try first)...

Good luck.. -its crap to feel crap... :(

All hospital ever did for me was increase the offending medication that was causing it in the long run, and “work” on it from both ends.. Most often my lower bowel was pretty empty(ish) anyway.. Its going to depend on your situation..

I often spent hours laying on a folded pillow too..

I developed this same awful problem on my taper and tried a lot of things (prunes, chicory, gallons of water, "smooth move" tea, chia/flaxseed cereal, fiber, yadda yadda) until a buddy in AU suggested I try Natural Calm (don't laugh at the name) magnesium citrate. Now I take 1 tsp in water at night and am completely regular. You can buy it at Amazon here in the US. And I saw it last weekend at my local health food store also.

Hope this helps. I know how aggravating this is.  :(

I have to take a prescription laxitive every day to go at all now.

Now I have developed sensitivities to the sugar alcohols in it but still have to take it or don’t go at all.

Ajusta, maybe give Natural Calm a try. I thought I would be wedded to laxatives, too. But, nope! And you'll go every day, never fail. As the song says "easy as Sunday morning".

;)

Does it cause revving at all? I have a problem with that.

It didn't rev me. Probably because the amount of Mg you ingest is so small -- 125 mgs, I think. But everyone's different.  :-\
