I'm pretty sure I felt my brain kindle 9 months ago. It felt like a switch flipped in my brain.  Can anyone else relate?

A little. Know that kindling is only a theory, not a real known problem. No one has ever proven it can happen. I personally think it is possible, but some of  my mind rejects the entire thing. Its like ALL things benzos: NO ONE REALLY KNOWS THE TRUTH. All of us guess and make suggestions based on what we do know, or what someone we trust tells us.

How do YOU define kindling? I really so want to know.

East -  I only found out about kindling through this website and others along with other terminology and symptoms.  I just know that I have come off benzos before a few times with no problems (or nothing I considered BWS at the time).  This last time was a hell of a lot different.  I will never know if it was from coming off too quickly or from kindling from previous use.  I wonder where I would be today if I never knew about benzo withdrawal.

Eastcoast,

You are stating this (in bold) as a FACT, then go on to say, “no one really knows the truth.”  That’s a contradiction.  I know you struggle with people misinterpreting your posts.  You may want to avoid words like “know.”

People who have kindled, like the OP describes, are pretty good at determining what kindling feels like, which to them is more profound than “regular withdrawal.”  Their experience with kindling is just as factual as all other phenomena described on this forum.  To say that people should KNOW kindling is just a “theory” dismisses the experience.

Kindling *IS* only a theory - the very definition of which DOES mean that “no one really knows the truth.”  Duh.  Go and look up the definition of "theory".

"People who have kindled, like the OP describes, are pretty good at determining what kindling feels like" ... Jesus, you talk more crap than the rest of BB put together. :idiot:

Would it be safer to say that “Subsequent tapers or discontinuations can sometimes be harder and more problematic..??

It feels like THIS is what some people are reporting..

I sort of agree. I wish we DID know the complete truth about this, but we just don't. Keep your mind open about this, and hopefully some day we WILL know. But by then, I would think most of you will have healed and gone about your normal lives...sans benzos.

Sofa, you are nitpicking, and I am sorry you feel the need to do this. Picking apart someone's post trying to find some error in thinking is really kind of silly. Words are just words. Almost everyone on BB just wants to be reassured, and given some basic info and advice just to manage benzo w.d. None of us know the complete truth and perhaps we will never KNOW the utter truth. ALL of us are just "babes in the woods" trying to find our way out. So we offer suggestions, talk about what WE experienced, and give sort of basic mild advice on how to get THRU withdrawal.

There is NO ONE on BB or anywhere who truly knows the utter truth, because this just is NOT known yet.

Careful now, Cant, you know what can sometimes happen to you if you keep writing such sensible posts. :-[  (In joke, Guys).

I'd add to the above:  “Subsequent tapers or discontinuations can sometimes be harder and more problematic for some people, and can be a lifesaver for others, e.g. reinstated cold turkeys".
