Menstrual cycles and BWS

Hi,

 

Not that I've had a cycle in over a year (thanks klonopin), but I do have hormone fluctuations during that time.  My symptoms seem be be really bad during this time.  I had minor to no symptoms until this weekend.  Why do I always lose my weekends to this?  Anyway....

 

Has anyone noticed that your symptoms seem to increase or get worse during your menstrual cycle?

Yes, yes and yes- hormone fluctuations definitely effect or mimic withdrawal symptoms. I have been benzo free for 1.5 years. I have healed so much but I finished my taper just as I have became peri menopausal. My sleep is great except around my cycle ( I have been up since 3 am due to drenching night sweats). My anxiety also increases that time of the month. I saw a great therapist early in my taper and she warned me that the symptoms of menopause or any hormone fluctuations mimic withdrawal and she was right- damn hormones! Take courage- you are not alone in you journey

Thank you!  I thought there was something to it.  I'm not menopausal,  but I've had all the symptoms.  It wasn't until I started researching tapering and the benzo side effects that I realized my "unlucky" (per one dr) symptoms were probably klonopin.

 

Now that I know it can be cycle related, that will help me be better prepared.

Me too! It’s the worst. I thought I had severe aneamia and major medical problems the first few times and now I know what to expect...ugh!! I started taking cbd oil recently and will report back if it helps this cycle. Toes and fingers crossed!
