I am sorry you are feeling this way!  I too used to wake up in terror b4 I was advised to take melatonin 6mg and an SSRI called Trazedone that has sedating effects.  I will eventually have to ween of the Trazedone, but my doctor said even if I was on it for years it would be ok bc it helps with anxiety and depression.  You are on just .25 mg so you may not want to add anything more on your plate.  For me, my doctor suggested it bc I was getting 2 to 3 hours a night and waking up in terror and panic attacks....the worst dreams ever.  Having sleep and not feeling that feeling makes things seem more doable for me.  Everything before felt so much worse bc of the night time.  Again, only you know how much you can put up with and you may not want to add anything to your system.  Just wanted to send support your way. ❤, BLL

Not sure if it’s legal where you are but medicinal cannabis is helping me. If it weren’t for that I wouldn’t sleep at all plus 50mg cbd and melatonin!

Did you get off the Ambien before the benzo?  I am taking 7.5 mg Ambien and .5 Klonopin and don’t know where to start. Thanks!

Lookinup yes I stopped ambien - it actually never worked for me to tell you the truth and I only took it about 10 times (10mg). I would say get off the ambien first as that will be easier and I personally find melatonin to be just as effective if not more than ambien without crappy side effects!

Thanks. I am reducing it little by little.  Have been taking it for four months.  Does put me to sleep, but wake up after a few hours.  Hopefully each reduction doesn’t affect the klonopin level and put me into withdrawal!
