Has anyone had a terrible wave at 34 months?

Losing perspective  because I’m in such a miserable way. The worst in ages! I just don’t understand. Even some new symptoms.  Have others experienced this within this timeframe? Thank you. I am very interested in hearing from people who recovered and what their last waves were like.

Hi There, I am at 40 months and am facing a horrific wave.  I was hoping it was nearing the end but am facing all sorts of really horrible symptoms. Some I have had before and some are new.  Headaches are massive and unbearable with lots of brain pressure including stomach issues which have been diagnosed with ulcers etc but not convinced this is true. Living in South Africa with doctors who are oblivious to benzos and the only support I have is hubby and one of my children.  Sometimes I wonder how I can keep going - it is only my faith in God that keeps me holding on. I was on Xanax and sleeping pills for 25 years

Would love to have a response from someone who is walking or has walked the same road.  :)

This month it will be 5 years since I started to taper Klonopin. Over all I am doing great; the benzo withdrawal has just been a bad memory since. Still, I have to be honest and say that I still experience very small waves - but they are just that - very small, as in lasting a day or two once a year, or even more infrequent. In other words, pretty manageable. It even takes me a while to recognise it, since it's been so long. Today is such a day, and I am reminded of how horrible the whole thing was. I am super paranoid and suddenly so afraid of waking up tomorrow feeling like this. I don't remember if there previously has been anything that has set off the waves, but this time I believe it might have something to do with the fact that I am currently very pregnant and exhausted. Have been pushing my self way too hard, at work and at home. This might be my brain and body telling me to cool it.. hope tomorrow will be better and that your wave will pass quickly too OP :)

I am 31 months out and feel absolutely miserable on some moments. The only positive note is the duration. My pattern went trom monthly, weekly, daily, hourly waves. Right now waves are 15 / 30 minutes and sometimes couple of hours straight. So there is progression, but just came out to nasty weeks. The story continuers :idiot:. All the best to you!

I’m 41 months out and still suffering greatly with severe headache scalp pain, brain zaps 24/7. My body is very weak and have pain and thingling everywhere. Left side of my body getting muscle spasm every day. Not able to work or function

No window yet. I had somewhat better hrs here and there but very rarely.

Losing hope many times I will recover from this.

For those of you off for long periods (more than 2 years), are you completely off benzos in that time or are you occasionally microdosing out of desperation?

I found that when I do use benzos (even if only occasionally) it's resetting my recovery. The key is to stay off them completely. It's difficult I know, but it's the only way to recover properly.

Just curious. I'm hoping I can eventually get my brain back to working properly again. I need to understand how people can continue to feel this bad after such long periods without benzos.

No, once I was off I had no intention to take a benzo again.  I've been healed for a good long time but even in the days of recovery, taking a benzo was never in my thought processes. Of course, withdrawal symptoms can be difficult to tolerate and last much longer than expected. My mantra was always "what I feel is my healing". It helped me.

I'm 35ish months off, I haven't touched a benzo in that time, haven't drank or taken any other prescription drugs. I've taken supplements and a few things that probably aggravated me, plus I have candida/lyme. But not sure if they would cause the severity of my symptoms.

Wally,

Never, ever will I take another benzo. I haven't since 34 months ago. Its been one hell of a ride with all degrees of horrible. I have other meds and I worry that they aren't helping me. But I need them for other things. I'm doing much better, but still have very bad days. I haven't beeen on here for approx 10 months. I couldn't deal with the constant focus. Tonight I'm suffering with severe back pain, so i returned. My best to everyone!

Madame, I was on Klonopin/clonazepam for 26.5 years. So I feel your pain. :smitten:

Nearly 29 months out and in the same boat. Having windows here and there where the symptoms become very mild randomly for 3-4 days before returning again. Only mental symptoms that I've had since acute.
