Trying to quit...

I'v been on 1 mg. of Clonazepam for 2 years. Was prescribed for restless leg (which I don't have). Read and heard so much BAD about this drug I want to stop taking. Been reducing by .25% for 7 days. So far all is OK. Going to try to reduce .25% every 2 weeks. Hope it works.

Hello BoomBoom, Welcome to BenzoBuddies!

We're glad you've decided to join us and hope your experience in getting off the Clonazepam is an easy one, not everyone will suffer from withdrawal symptoms, so you may be one of the lucky ones.  Most of our members find that slowly reducing helps their body adjust to the reduction a little easier but everyone is different.  If you start to be uncomfortable, then listen to your body and slow things down.  The goal is to remain functional in your life while getting off the drug.

We have some boards which will be helpful for you regarding your taper if you'd like to check them out. General Taper Plans  might be a good place to start, but feel free to look around and see what looks good to you.

Again, we're happy you're here.
