Ativan Seizure/Anxiety Question

I am 2 days since stopping .25 of Ativan/lorazepam. Im still worried about seizures, am I likely to have one now 2 days after stopping? Also is it going to help my anxiety stopping as I felt anxious even on it? Thank you.

I agree that your seizure threshold is low.

 

However, you were taking benzos, first diazepepam and then ativan for about 8 months.  That is enough time for dependency to develop.  So you might continue to feel some anxiety due to withdrawal, but  it will ease up with time. Ativan has a pretty short half life so it's possible to feel interdose withdrawal symptoms, this happened to me.

 

If you were put on benzos for anxiety it would be good to find other tools to deal with it. Modalities such as CBT, meditation, yoga and deep breathing techniques can be helpful.

 

I didn't have anxiety before I was put on benzos, but they did a great job of creating it. With time, it went away.
