Dry Cutting math - I'm lost

I could use help figuring out my dose.

I have 0.5mg ativan pills.

Avg Weight 10 pills=0.06 g

I'm dosing 3x a day.  Right now I'm breaking 0.5mg in half, taking 0.25 mg and adding 1/4 of 0.25 pill.  I assume this gets to me around 0.9mg daily dose but I need to be more precise.

I lost the link to the builder formula.  I'd like to dose 3x a day, and do 10% reduction over the course of 10 days starting at 0.9 mg daily.  I found I was getting interdose WD's when dosing 2x day.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi today.

I looked at your opening post and you're on 1mg of Ativan (or you were earlier in September). Do you still have only a few pills to taper with?

I was at 1mg and then I started breaking up the pills and doing 3x a day.  I noticed I was doing much better when I did this.  I found a new Dr, but she wants me to fast taper over a month.  I tried to go to 0.75mg yesterday, and it prompted tinnitus, muschle aches, anxiety.

I'm going to have to do taper on my own, and then find a new Dr. if this one won't help me.

If I remember, you've only been on for two months, right?  If so, I would agree with your new doctor about a rapid taper. You don't want to deepen the dependency on Ativan by staying on any longer than you have to.

On the other hand, you don't want intolerable symptoms either.  Balance between a rapid taper and a not-too-rapid taper is needed, IMO.

I would try something different, maybe.  I'd try .25mg four times a day since Ativan is so short-acting.  After a few days I'd cut one of those four doses in half.  A few more days, cut in half one of the other four doses.  And so so.

yes, 2 months. ok, I'll try that.  I agree I want off this as soon as possible.  I think it's having a brain injury that is going to make my WD symptoms much worse than normal but at same time the longer I'm on the more damage is being done to hurt an already damaged brain.

I can't say whether or not your original injury will heal, but any effects on your body from the Ativan should reverse in time.

Want more help with the history?  I can add it for you if you'd like.

What she said makes perfect sense. If you find your feeling the cuts too badly come on down and play the price is right and we’ll try and help. Good luck 👍🍀

I'm feeling the effects pretty bad from yesterdays cut to .75mg.  It's most noticeable in my ears(throbbing pain).  I'll stay at .125 .25 .25 .25 for the next 4 days and see if it stabilizes.  Sincere thanks for your help.

Good idea. Let your body tell you when it’s time to cut. You can always make smaller cuts.

I attempted to go down to .625mg ativan today.

11am  0.25mg

4PM 0.125 mg

8PM 0.25mg  I started getting severe headaches, super emotional, severely depressed thoughts.  There are other factors in my life aggravating things but I was doing pretty well today until about 7PM.

Right now I'm having some chest pain and heart palpitations.  I'm not really sure what to do tomorrow.  Am I going to have to accept some severe symptoms as I attempt a drop or should I dose back up to 0.75mg tomorrow and start to make smaller cuts?

Why don’t you hold for a while? You may consider that an option. With time perhaps those symptoms will dissipate. :smitten:

yes, going to try to hold.  maybe i'm better off doing

.25mg 9 am

.2mg 4pm

.2 mg 9 pm

what would the weight be for .2mg if 1 0.5mg weighs 0.06g?  Fractions never my strong suit.
