Hello Everyone,

I went to a 7 day program and was detoxed off Xaxax. I could not handle the withdrawal so the doctor put me

back on Klonopin to do a slow taper.  Most of the withdrawal symptoms are gone however I am feeling dizzy?

I am also on Paxil. Should I get off of Klonopin and get on something else?

Any input appreciated on why I may be feeling like this?

Thank You

Dizziness is common.  There is a dizzy thread...not sure where at the moment.  I have struggled with this all along.  It's much improved.  If that's your last sx, you are doing well.  I know how it impedes with daily living.  How severe is it?

Its mild.  Today none at all.  How was your cold turkey off 4mg of Klonopin.  You must have gone thru hell!

Can you tell me your experience and why you did not taper?

I would concentrate on getting of the benzo first. Klonapin is considered more potent a benzo. Anti depressants - no one really knows if they work at all. I took them for years and got NO relief from depression whatsoever. It wasn't until I got off benzos that I began to LOSE my depression and even my old anxiety. At this point, I would NEVER take another anti depressant again as I really don't think they do a darn thing except make money for a few people. Keep in mind this is ONLY a personal opinion!

I went CT off Klonapin 6 mgs. I was forced to by a doctor who finally figured out that my overall health had gotten so bad while ON benzos. I am not angry at him either, because he was RIGHT. I know he did this blindly, as I also know he had NO idea how bad benzo wd can be or the serious side effects of using them far too long. He made his decision because I kept falling, and breaking bones or getting concussions. I was a total mess back then.

I was angry at him for maybe 6 months and then I slowly realized that getting off benzos was going to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I DID remain angry at the psych doc who kept writing scripts for such huge doses, but I also recognize that I DID have some responsibility for what pills I chose to take.

Oh what a mess we can make if we choose to take benzos.

Well my cousin was going to blow his brains out and Paxil is what saved his life, so just because you stayed depressed while you were abusing a shit-ton of Klonopin and all those other benzos you posted about taking doesn’t make you a great person to go to for advice.  You only know about your own life why are you saying this kind of crap to someone who’s on Paxil, is that supposed to be helpful???  🙄🙄🙄

I wouldn’t give advice on which drug to get off first, Eastcoast.  That’s prescriptive and should remain the responsibility of the prescriber.

Nomore,

Have you checked out the forum survivingantidepressants.org?  You might find more helpful info there regarding the Paxil.  When Paxilprogress shut down, the people all joined SA, so you should be able to get lots of help with Paxil.

Good luck!
