After panic attack had to reinstate. When will I feel normal again?

Had a bad panic attack after cutting down to 1 mg. I had cut aggressively by .5mg every week. Was screaming etc. Ended up reinstating. The second day after reinstating I ended up in the ER where I was injected with 2mg ativan so I don't know if my tolerance went up. Honestly I would rather be on them for life so I would never have to go through that hell again. I still feel off. Lots of anxiety and depression and insomnia. Racing heart especially at night. Feel like things aren't real. I hate being like this. I don't want to taper again so please don't ask. My question is will I ever feel normal again after reinstating? I want to feel normal again and I'm so scared.

Hi Daniel,

I want to reply but need to know more.  Can you add your benzodiazepine and some taper info, length of time on the benzo?  Go to Profile, then Forum Profile, add the info and save it.

I'll be back.  Happy to help you do the profile if you need me to.

Following. Daniel the updoses or reinstatements can take a while to make an effect. Wait and see what Challis says.

I believe the only reason you are feeling this way is because you were cutting .5 mg of Kolonopin per week. If I did that I would either be in a hospital or dead. It is simply just too fast. Take heart though. Hopefully your updose will stabilize you (I have no experience with that) and then you can do a slow and steady taper (if you wish). There is plenty of help here for you if you decide to try again. 5% cut over 2 weeks with a daily cut is often pretty tolerable. I thought I was going to just stay on Kolonopin my whole life until I hit tolerance. It was not doable for me. So, I am tapering off even though it is not easy.

I am sure you will stabilize. Then you can explore a slow and steady taper with the support of your fellow BB.

All the best!

5%? I don't even believe that is possible with tablets.

Yes it is. I tapered lexapro for four years and I was dry cutting the pills 5% every 15 days. With a jewelry scale.

What do think is a good taper plan for starting at .5 Klonopin?  Getting ready to start a taper.  Also tapering Ambien at same time.
