Ok so I 110% without a doubt do believe this entire time what I’ve endured has been chronic fatigue syndrome NOT wd. Cfs is a debilitating condition. It’s so much more than fatigue and is life long. My main sympoms over the 17 months that have not waxed and wained like they do in wd are intense fuzzy/foggy brain feeling, severe sensitivity to noise and light, if I’m exposed to noise and light I have intense, crazy insane anxiety, sore throat, crushing fatigue, I can sleep 6-8 hours and still wake up feeling unrested, insomnia at times, cognitive issues, just taking my daughter to and from school does me in for the day, weak shaky jelly legs, increased heart rate with standing, can’t tolerate any exercise. Here all effen along I was made to believe it’s been “withdrawal” I will heal...not everything is withdrawal. I took my daughter to school this morning and get home and instantly my throat is sore and burning and I feel exhausted...although I had ZERO anxiety about being out. I could understand being exhausted if I was in a panic state the entire time but I was not.  I don’t know how to live like this anymore?? I really don’t. My neurologist said it’s cfs. I’m absolutely crushed and heartbroken

It’s always been benzo WD with you. Your arms and legs were twitching all over and panic and anxiety to go outside are NOT from CFS. You were also having adverse reactions to other drugs and CFS does not make one go crazy let’s say from taking a sedating antidepressant like trazadone. With CFS it would knock you out for days.

In all actually you are in the second phase of recovery. Your adrenals are shot and this is why this is  happening. Congratulations on healing!!

If you think it’s CFS you can put it to the test and get back on benzos for 5 months and come off again since you claim it’s CFS. If that is the case your reinstatement will not harm you. My guess is you will be screaming bloody murder and not able to go outside again which is NOT a CFS symptom. Most likely you would be in tolerance very fast with loads of new stuff and worsening. You might even then

Get more bullshit diagnosis from your Dr and a lot more drugs till your sick all the time and laying in. Bed because you did not believe the process and you did not let yourself heal.

I do not recommend this at all. You are already seeing improvement. The people here are telling you what it is.

This is directed to Indigoblue but includes others who have written prescriptively on this thread, and there have been many.

I understand how everyone feels when someone says they may have to reinstate. After all, having gone through a difficult withdrawal or still in the process, it's hard to think that someone would be starting back on the drug that caused these issues.

However, we can not not each person's reality.  It is appropriate to post giving suggestions or imparting your personal experience. However, members are not allowed to 'diagnose' others on the forum.  Not only is it dangerous but it is simply not permitted on the forum.

I'm quite certain that if I had posted about shoulder pain on the forum that many people would say it's likely due to withdrawal. I didn't post about this because I knew it was unrelated to withdrawal. An MRI confirmed a large full thickness tear of the rotator cuff as well as a bicep tendon tear.  This was not withdrawal and not everything is.

Withdrawal does bring odd, strange and unexpainable symptoms, but it's important for people to be proactive about their health and seek medical treatment if needed.  The OP could be still be experiencing withdrawal, this is true.  It will be up to her to decide what is best for her situation. In the future please post in an appropriate manner.

  • Please adopt a non-prescriptive writing style. Relating your experiences, stating options, or posting suggestions of what other members might do are all welcome. However, advising members of what they should or must do is against the ethos of the BenzoBuddies Community. Nor should you attempt to 'diagnose' medical problems or suggest medical treatments to other members. This policy also applies to members with medical qualifications. A more detailed explanation of this policy can be found in our Guidelines Regarding the Giving of Medical Advice document.

My thoughts exactly. Not everything is WD and the amount of judgement at the mere suggestion of something other than WD on these threads is rampant. Thank you for this.

As a follow up to my wave last week I would just like to say my extreme fatigue only lasted five days. I'm still intermittently lightheaded but I believe this was indeed a wave and not CFS- thank God.

Never thought I would be grateful for a wave but I am when it beats out a worse alternative!  :)
