Took 15mg of valium a day for 20+ years.  New insurance (Kaiser) refused to continue prescription and only gave me a month to wean myself off.  Feeling horrible.  Kaiser is crap medicine.

Hi Vonmerpf  Welcome to Benzobuddies

We are glad you found us!  I am sorry you were forced into a fast taper, I can imagine how bad you feel. The nature of benzos is that they are best tapered slowly, at a suggested rate of between 5/10% every 10/14 days.  When was your last dose?    The withdrawal symptoms can be very severe.  Have they eased off any  ?  Recovery can be a long road but the symptoms should ease off, it does get better eventually, time is our healer.

I would suggest that you familiarise yourself with the Professor Ashtons Manual, It is a great resource for understanding the effect benzo’s have on our body.  It provides withdrawal information and includes a list of common symptoms

You will find some very valuable support and information on the forum.  Our members are happy to share their personal experiences with you and support you.  Please feel free to browse the boards and post questions to any of the dedicated threads.

We do have a dedicated board for those people who have done a cold turkey or rapid withdrawal.

Cold Turkey Detox & Rapid Withdrawal Board

I will also leave post withdrawal link:

Post withdrawal recovery support board

Please feel free to ask questions, members can respond with the best information if they know your medication history so I will ask you to create a signature line listing your medication and dose.  Go to the top of the page and select PROFILE then choose forum profile then insert drug history into the text box and remember to click change profile

Welcome aboard

Magrita
