Benzo Body Buzz.. Is this Normal??

Hi Group... I recently went through a taper to get off of clonazepam.  I was only on the drug for 10 months and on a pretty low dose (0.5mg/day).  My taper schedule was 0.25mg/day for 1 month, 0.19mg/day for 2 weeks, 0.125mg/day for 2 weeks then off.  I am approaching 4 weeks off now and in general feeling not too bad.  I have had this feeling like my entire body is "buzzing" or vibrating, some generalized anxiety, muscle tension and mild heart palpitations (that are starting to go away).  The symptom that I find most bothersome is the "body buzz".  Just wondering if this is common when coming off of clonazepam?  I know we are all different, but does it take a long time to go away? Any techniques that members have found helpful for soothing the symptoms? I currently meditate for about an hour per day, do progressive muscle relaxation exercises and take magnesium and NAC which seem to help some.  Any advice is appreciated.  Thanks to all of you for supporting this group.  Thankfully I was not on clonazepam very long and at a pretty small dose.  So much respect and compassion to those of you dealing with coming off  this drug - especially at higher doses and years of use. All the best!

I just posted about this, but yes I have had this since the beginning. In May it started to get much better, less frequent, mostly just at night. The vibrations seem to let up a little about every 6 months. Lately they are back, probably because I am healing again. Once this bout is over with I hope they are gone at night too. They are my worse symptom. And yes heart palps and anxiety seem to go hand in hand with it.

Lego - I had body buzzing while doing a fast taper, during acute, and a little beyond.  Lots of people seem to have that as part of the recovery sx.  There didn't seem to be much I could do about it, but it finally went away.

Sounds like you're doing okay overall and hope you continue to do well!!  So glad for you that you got off them after ten months.  I was on them for a little over a year.  Good luck to you!!!
