Magnesium Setback

Recommended Posts

Buddies I was using industrial magnesium oxide and It has tossed to into acute where all I can do is pace and cry.

I am trying to push through. I was wondering if anyone has EVEN in benzo WD tried to sleep and when they fall asleep they wake up in the middle of the night with HUGE amounts of electricity and adrenaline going through their heart and maybe your feet and back start on fire or start burning real bad.

I don't want to feel alone in this. I feel this is far worse feeling than a CT.

Indigo,

This was my experience my entire 3rd taper attempt following a brutal cold turkey.

Know that it does eventually resolve.  What has helped is time off benzos, hormone stability, ice, cold showers and long talks with my brother at 3:00 am.

I am so sorry you are suffering with this; it is truly inhuman.........

Hang in there....

SS thank you! Just a few weeks ago I was doing better. I am EXTREEMLY sensitized and the MAG hit me like a CT. I have been pacing and pacing and when I try to sleep its electricity all over me and burning. I wake all night with pulse highly elevated akathisia and terror.

I was only exposed for 2 days but I guess on my system that's enough.

Does this subside because its been hitting hard for a week straight. Last 4 days have been the worst.

I noticed that for some reason It seemed to ramp up the hardest 2 days after the exposure and then once again after I drank prune juice to have a bowel movement. When I am attached I get constipation and cant even eat.

You think this will pass? It seems more intense than If I CT benzos. I had to take off work and pace.

For me it completely resolved outside of estrogen drops. But, when it does resurfaces, it is less intense. Still torture, but not nearly as intense or long lasting. There seems to be a strong causal relationship with estrogen drops.

I experienced this torture when c/t and it did resolve then, too, Indigo. It took time, though. I spent a lot of time with ice, tears and pacing in my garden.  It does seem related to the adrenergic system. Have you tried clonidine or propanolol?  I know it’s terrifying to add anything in but propanolol is a first line defense against akathisia.

How much sleep you getting?

SS, according to W-BAD Magnesium binds to GABA and blocks Glutamate. That's why some find relief. To me the exposure is a complete nightmare and its been 9 days since I was exposed and I pace cry pace cry and sleep 3 hrs in an acid trip with my pulse soaring.

I do hope is short lived. I can deal with burning skin and physical symptoms. I always have some electricity running through my body. This amplified it to the point where I thought I was connected to a power station. My heart has so much electricity.

I tried propranolol long ago after a CT and it made me very depressed. It seems to help those with antipsychotic akathisia. For some reason the benzo related akathisa is MORE mental and when I take other drugs it just adds to the sizzle. The only thing that helped me at one time was Gabapentin.

The magnesium feels WORSE than benzo. My benzo issues lasted years. I hope this Mag is not like that or I will be in the hospital again.

Yes, I understand about magnesium being a crapshoot.

Just know that the body is designed to find homeostasis. You felt better at one point and you will get back there in time. It’s simply brutal waiting, I know....

Staying away from supplements, as you’ve discovered,  may be in your best interest, for now. The first six months, I ate and drank the same foods to keep as much as I could the same. No variables.

Hope this shifts soon, Indigo....
