Burning Sore Throat, Sinus Issues, Do Doctors Just write Anxious on Your Head ?

Hi all, I haven't posted in a while...well I guess I sort of just said this is the way I am, but I have grown to a point of just absolutely fed up.

Long time sufferer of anxiety and I don't stick to the plan of taper. I will go down to .5 mgs of Xanax and then back up to the regular dose of 1.5 mg's. It's obvious I have developed a tolerance of it. It absolutely does nothing. I have this one symptom that just sends me through the roof and I feel the doctors sort of take a sharpie and write anxious on your forehead and you walk in they see it and suddenly look at you not as seriously. I have this weird symptom of a raw raspy throat with burning. It does in fact get worse at times and better at times never goes away though.

 

Oh of course I have had it checked and my doctor can't see any signs of abnormality. Just redness. Of course this has been going on for better and worse for 11 months and I know they are thinking of 11 months ? If it were cancer something else would have occurred in that time frame. I think they believe I am ye ole Psychosomatic ! I am sick of it and losing patience. This is strange. Burning mouth syndrome ? I understand that is rare. Reflux...it happens when I don't have reflux , now I have had some of the strangest symptoms over the years and some have lasted entire year, but at least if some of the buddies out there have had similar experiences maybe I can have a 5% calming until the next appointment.

 

I thank you all...I really appreciate it some feedback I am at that desperation point.

Sorry for your docs lack of interest.

He needs to know your smoking, alcohol previous.

It can be vitamin deficiency too and iron.

Or simple things like thrush.

Loads of possibilities!!

 

Tell him to stop labelling you as bonkers and exam you and do the necessary tests!

I'm not a doctor but it sounds like gerd/lpr/acid reflux hitting your throat. I have gerd and LPR and it's been going  crazy the last couple months due to my taper.

My voice became deeper, raspier during withdrawal.  Thought about singin' Blues.  I did have the Blues.

 

All tests normal. 

 

Yes I too, feel that fluorescent light blinking on my head which reads hypo.  Grrrrr!

Yes Gerd needs looking at. Many drugs have anti cholerneric properties causing dry mouth, thick sputum and difficulty swallowing.

OMG, it's really horrible when stuff like that happens.  Misposted the odd text myself. 

 

Adopt a really progressive response if daughters load the rubber bullets.  It's the only way. 

 

This is your reality, this is the reality of all of us here.  We will not be judged, and we will continue to assert the view that there is no shame (or judgement) in having a legitimate health issue.  A health issue still denied by the know all's.  Know all's, know nothing. 

 

I'm tiring of a world where judgement is still meted out to people with alcohol, or other drug problems. Iatrogenic or not. 

 

Outside of that, the Channel's an easy cross.
