Low dose valium 1.6mg.should I stay at taking twice a day,

Hello again friends

I am now on 1.6mgs Valium reduced from 4mgs with a long brutal taper.

I wondered has anyone who has been taking a divided dose and moved to a single dose, without destabilising themselves, I am very sensitive to this drug, and don't want to get this last bit wrong, but somewhere along the way it surely will become too difficult to divide it.

Any views would be welcome and if so what would be the best way to go about it? Or  am I better to continue  as I am for now?

Any help is most welcome. I want to get this last part right .

Jen

Hi, I'm taking clonazepam. I'm at 0.1875 (3/4 x 0.25 pill).

I will take single night dose on my next cut, that is 0.125, but I think it depends on the individual.

Dr. Ashton eliminates day doses at 10/8 mg of diasepam in most withdrawal schedules.

Good luck.

P.

Thank you Psychmed.

I am in two minds what to do. It would be so much more convenient to dose once a day, but having had such a  hard journey off I am afraid I might in some way destabilise, not that I am stable at the best of times, I just have to accept that. I just wondered if others have moved to a single dose with no problems,

I imagine those who were prescribed for insomnia it would seem logical to take the whole dose at night, but as I was given it for anxiety, I am used to day time dosing, not that I think that the morning dose of 0.8mgs will in any way help that, but  it may be keeping my slow daily reduction even,

I have noticed though, that maybe half and hour to an hour after my morning dose  my anxiety rises, It's most odd,

If I took it all at night it might just eliminate this problem, as I am much calmer after 10pm as a general rule, however I realise I may have a psychological dependance on the morning dose, though not the evening dose which I could so easily forget to take,  I do seem to have reacted oddly to valium the whole time.  Fortunately since mastering microtapering it's on it's way out. and good riddence,

Hi there

I think the time has come to move it to night time. You will then be less anxious on waking and still protected by the long acting metabolite.

Can you do 0.4 am and 1.2 at night for a while then move it all to night time.? It takes about 4 days to get used to single dose I was told.

I single dosed for about 30 of the 50 odd years

Good luck

D

Chin, you can definitely take all your med in morning if you want.  Valium is long acting and many people dose it once a day.  IMO, if you don't really notice any help at night, but are anxious during the day, take it all at once in the morning.  You may need some time to adjust, but if it could help you with your anxiety during the day, that would be wonderful.  Love ya, Mary 💜💜
