It is Time for a Change for Me

Dear Buddies,

I am taking a needed hiatus from the forum. Like many of you, it can and does get to one. I am just a few weeks short of my 7th Anniversary. That is a very long time.

I will tell you that I am fully healed now, and very happy about that! The love and support and information I got on BB was excellent and extremely rewarding. I have enjoyed trying to help others get through "The Benzo Maze." I could not have gotten through what I did without this wonderful safe place.

But now it is time for Annie to focus on things other than benzos. My work, for one. I still don't know if I want to use my nursing license or not, but at least I have it again. I had to struggle to pay for getting back on active status. But I did this!

I also know that my future will include more work  helping benzo victims. But not on BB for now. I just have to find a new way to support people going through this.

No matter how awful you feel, you can and WILL heal, as long as you stay off benzos and try to distract yourself, and learn some new healthier ways to cope with insomnia or anxiety.

Something I learned on this journey is that our brains are amazing in their ability to heal, from many sorts of traumas. And if my 69 year old, tired old brain can heal, your certainly will.

Never give up. Keep on going and try to trust that what your wiser elders tell you.

HUGE HUG to a WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE!!!!

Please know I will miss all of you. My hear is still with all of you, and hopefully in the future I will return here. Many of you know my adorably sweet cat, Jackie Bear. He is just fine and will be happy Mom is not always on her computer! He sleeps on it, as its so nice a warm. He wakes me every day by butting his big head against mine and purring so loudly I HAVE to wake up. Gotta love a cat like that.

Let God take care of you, and focus all your attention on getting off these drugs. I am NOT Superwoman. I am a small, thin lady who is almost 70 now, and I managed to heal from this. If I can, anyone can.

Love you all.

Annie and Bear (east)

I miss you!  You have helped me survive these past months, you began with me at the beginning.  It is a HUGE loss to BB people.  Your experience has been appreciated.

Enjoy (jBear) and your life!!

Love you, Sara ❤️
