Diagnosed with functional dyspepsia

Recommended Posts

I had an endoscopy session today and was later diagnosed with functional dyspepsia. He said it most likely caused by anxiety. My problem is that I don't have much anxiety. My symptoms are nausea and stomach pain.

Is this benzo belly? What are you guys experience with this? I find it so odd that it suddenly shows up 5 months after I took my last dose.

IMO, doctor’s use dyspepsia as a fancy term for indigestion. GI distress seems to b a very common symptom when recovering from benzo’s. Ur GI tract has one of the highest concentration of GABA receptors in the body. I cleaned up my diet early on after jumping as I wasn’t able to tolerate a lot of foods I had been able to previously. Another thing that helped me was drinking lots of water & using miralax to help with smooth transitioning. Exercise, specifically cardio has also done wonders for my digestive process. I still tend to get acid reflux from things like soda or spicy foods. I had dealt with severe stomach & intestinal pain for year’s. It was actually so bad that I spent 2 years having tests done trying to figure out what was going on with nothing but good results. It wasn’t until I completely removed benzo’s from the picture did these issues finally resolve. Maybe eating smaller amounts more periodically can help with your problems. Hopefully these issues will resolve themselves soon for u, take care all the best.

Thanks! Did it clear up for you?
